Technical analysis and backend delivery for Fiori-facing services within a greenfield automotive implementation, supported by ABAP on HANA development, CDS, interfaces and controlled data conversion work.
The challenge
The implementation required backend services that could expose structured business data to custom Fiori applications while fitting the wider S/4HANA technical landscape.
Delivery also needed coordination across functional, Fiori, BASIS and other technical teams so service contracts, backend logic, testing and issue resolution stayed aligned.
Technical approach
Layered OData services were delivered through SAP Gateway to separate the Fiori-facing service contract from underlying data retrieval and application logic.
Supporting ABAP on HANA developments included object-oriented and procedural reporting, CDS views, interfaces, enhancements, user exits and BAPI/function-module-based conversions where required by the implementation.
Functional and Fiori needs are translated into a clear backend service contract.
Entities and relationships define the information exposed through Gateway.
ABAP and CDS retrieve, transform and validate the required SAP data.
OData operations expose the approved contract to the Fiori application.
Testing and issue resolution are coordinated across delivery teams.
